Corporate Rates

Your corporate video project is made by hand and you pay for what goes into it – the number of creative & technical personnel needed, the time it takes and the specific equipment and materials needed to create it.

I’ve produced company video projects with budgets of $500 to $100,000 and everything in between. Obviously, it’s a lot cheaper to produce a talking head video shot with a consumer camera than it is to produce a national commercial. A simple talking head video may cost between $1,000 to $3,500, where a TV commercial with national broadcast quality production values typically costs between $100,000 to $400,000. It all really depends upon what needs to go into your production.

My NICHE: providing high-quality productions that cost less than what other production companies would charge for the EQUIVALENT video. The key word being “EQUIVALENT”.

With everybody and his uncle owning a cheap video camera these days and a computer to edit with, you’re sure to find a lower price but unfortunately, high-quality video is not a commodity – it’s labor intensive and requires people who have the skills and training, and who possess the proper aesthetic sensibilities to create media that matches the quality of your brand.

At Okanagan Digital Media, I believe that any job worth doing is worth doing well. My rates are reasonable, and competitive within the field. Since video production is completely tailored to your needs, it is almost impossible to give blanket answers to questions like, “How much does a 5 minute video cost?”

An industry rule of thumb estimates $1,000 to $1,500 per finished minute of video for a quality presentation. This formula generally holds true for the typical 5-7 minute corporate video, but goes out of whack if the program is longer or shorter. The cost also is wildly dependent on what exactly you want to see on the screen during those minutes. A helicopter fly-over of your facility is very impressive, but obviously more budget-intensive than a camera person standing in the lawn across the street taking the shot. You get the idea.

The best way to answer your questions is to contact me to discuss your objectives. Consultations are free, and I’ll be happy to show you samples of similar productions, so you will know exactly what sort of look a certain budget buys.

In order to work up a production budget, I need to know more information on your particular project. What is the purpose of the video? Who is the target audience? How do you plan to distribute the video—on DVD, web, or via broadcast? Am I providing all or just some of the production services?

I look forward to having the opportunity of creating a production for you!
